Happy Almost August, Friends! Time for several mini updates.
Why haven’t you been posting? Summer has been crazy busy (in a good way)! Not a great excuse, but it’s all I’ve got for you. Time with my family, a road trip to Tennessee, a week at Pyoca, a week at Great Escape, and still working full time on the days I was home had me running a million directions. However, everything I’ve read about preparing for my book launch has made it clear I need to be more consistent on here. That starts now!
What’s going on with the book? No real news! My book is still in the queue for layout and cover design, and I am anxiously anticipating that part of the project. There is no launch date yet (that will come with the book is closer to a finished product). Meanwhile, I have the sequel completely outlined and have been focusing on getting the first draft out of my head and onto the computer screen.
How’s your health? This is usually one of the first questions asked when I speak to someone I haven’t seen in a long time. For those of you new to my blog and my story, I was diagnosed with aggressive malignant melanoma (cancer) in 2015. Now, I’m doing great! On Wednesday I will spend the whole morning doing my routine CT and MRI scans, and I’ll have a longer update when those results are in next week. We don’t anticipate any changes from the last few years. If all goes well, the end of September/early October will mark 4 years of being NED (no evidence of disease). In one more year I’ll be able to say I beat some pretty scary statistics. BOOM.
What are your next adventures?
- Welcoming a new nephew in October!
- Backpacking with students in the Amazon rainforest in January
- RELEASING MY DEBUT NOVEL in the spring (still can’t believe it)
- Walking where Jesus walked in Israel in May
